Had this weird feeling I had already read this but then I realised that a substantial portion, well the entertaining bits, had formed the major part of the promotional interview I had heard on the radio Not as strong as the first volume, in my view, not as lyrical Or maybe there was just less about his sex life in the first, and much of the humour in the second depends on that Quick read, and I can t help feeling a lot has been left out that might explain some of his current predicaments Although maybe its unprintable.

I loved this, practically inhaled it Steve Bisley is a wordsmith There is so much honesty, humour emotion in the stories he tells I expected anecdotes about his acting life and although I would have enjoyed them I was surprised but captivated by the stories he does tell in this memoir Brilliant

Bisley can write beautifully and he s generally a really engaging storyteller He s a bit of an old sexist dinosaur in many ways some of this reads a bit Alvin Purple Those expecting revelations from the set of Mad Max will be disappointed he describes the casting process, but that s about it He s fantastic on his childhood on the farm and adventures as a young milkman and Kings Cross barman, and later adventures as a middle aged pot farmer He goes quiet on a few things that I would ve liked to have had some perspective on ie domestic troubles, and that would seem to shed light on his depression But it s a good read Only occasionally does his rambling pall I loved the chapter on Leura.
