This story has an intriguing plotline And my fascination in seeing how things pan out makes for an absorbing read This is such an emotionally stirring romance with an equally moving plot which I won t talk about on purpose You ll have to read the book to know the finer details but I will talk about the characters from a reader s perspective We experience sibling love and the strong bond between sisters What Kayla has done for her now dead sister is remarkable I cheered for her, cried for her and laughed for her when things worked in her favor Donovan on the other hand is a man who any woman would like to get to know Even when he wants to run he stays Even when he doesn t want to show his emotions he does something good I loved him and loved him even when he acknowledges his feelings for Kayla Their coming together is beautiful and I happily cheered them on Dreamy Thank you Yvonne Lindsay for writing such a wonderful story Highly Recommended 5 Stars

Very good book with a somewhat unusual storyline Van, Kayla and her sister grew up together Van and her sister were best friends, while Kayla was a tagalong Years later, Kayla s sister is diagnosed with cancer and asks Van to be sperm donor for her so she can have children after her treatment But she died, leaving the eggs to Kayla, who swore she would have the babies her sister couldn t Five years later she s already given birth to one, but there are two left The clinic is about to close down and destroy unused embryos Kayla isn t financially ready for another baby, but she has no choice So she goes to Van to ask for his help.Van is surprised to see Kayla and stunned to discover that he s a father He d agreed to be donor, never expecting the embryos to be used He s not happy to discover that he s a father, and flatly refuses to help Kayla with the others In fact, he s determined to stop her from using them at all By the time he gets all the paperwork in order, it s too late Kayla is pregnant again.I really liked Kayla She s been a bit of a dreamer, footloose and commitment free But once she decided to have her sister s baby, she changed her entire life I loved hearing everything she did, both before and after Sienna was born She also has a big heart, helping people who need a second chance Unfortunately, her most recent helpee ended up helping herself to Kayla s savings and disappearing, which forced Kayla into asking for Van s help When he refuses she s determined to push on anyway.Van was a bit harder for me to like, at least at the beginning When he first appears, he s contemplating his upcoming marriage proposal It s obvious it s of a business merger, with no thought of love When Kayla came to him, he was furious about the existence of the baby and pretty darn nasty to Kayla When he went to her a few days later, he was horrified to see that they d been the victims of an attack, and that Kayla was extremely ill His protective instincts come out and he insists on Kayla and Sienna moving in with him He becomes a bit of a contradiction at this point, protective and kind, but also frequently cold and aloof.I liked seeing the relationship develop There is an attraction between them that can t be denied They gave into it once, after her sister s funeral, with Van disappearing without a word the next day Now they fight its effects every day Kayla is there under protest, only because she is so sick and needs the help Her pride and independence have her protesting just about everything Van does He tends to roll right over her when he decides something needs to be done, which really ticks her off However, he is also getting closer to little Sienna I loved seeing him slip into the daddy role, even though he is sure that he isn t fit for the job Kayla began to fall deeply for him, as she saw the man he could be emerge from the shell created by his past But Van still has those fears and continues to push her away, or withdraw as far as he can But when his former fiancee gets involved, Van has to face those fears or lose Kayla, Sienna and the new baby, and any chance of happiness I loved his big moment at the end, seeing him admit his fears to Kayla I also liked that it wasn t a sunshine and rainbows ending, but an admission that it would take effort to ensure their happiness copy received in exchange for honest review

I really liked this story about a man who didn t want a family who, through a decision made years ago, suddenly finds himself with not one, but two children.Van starts off a bit unlikeable, proposing a workmanlike marriage to a person not the heroine When Kayla turns up with the news that the sperm he donated years ago for her sister Sienna had been used he is less than pleased He d thought with Sienna s death five years ago that was the end of the story And the end of his connection with Kayla.Poor Van He wants to walk away but he has this streak of responsibility that keeps dragging him back to Kayla and little Sienna and the new surrogate baby Kayla is carrying despite his demand she forget it.This was a great story about people having to overcome the past so they can have a future.

One Heir Or Two is Yvonne Lindsay s contribution to Harlequin Desire s Billionaire s and Babes series I absolutely loved this book I couldn t put it down This was one of those stories that you have to wonder if the plot has actually happened in real life And, I m sure it has to some extent I loved how Ms Lindsay weaved the plot between Kayla and Donovan Donovan was Kayla s sister s best friend He did what many would not do he offered Sienna, Kayla s sister, the opportunity for a family After Sienna s death, Kayla stepped in to give her sister a family post mortem When Kayla s financial status changes, Donovan steps in becoming involved in something he really didn t want to be He now had a family that he never planned on in his lifetime.I loved watching how both Donovan and Kayla dealt with the situation Donovan learned to accept what happened and also learned how to deal with his feelings for Kayla I d like to disclose that I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Kayla Porter loved her sister and so proceeded to be a surrogate for her embryos Have her sisters name sake Sienna was just the beginning as there were embryos but the clinic was closing and her time was short and money was shorter Her only choice was to go to Donovan van Murphy and ask his financial help A tech tycoon with lots or money but a past that haunts him daily What happens next is something that will keep all romance readers glued to the book Watch how what we perceive our life will be like can change on the smile of an infant Ms Lindsay has written a lovely story of a women who has so much love and a man who wont allow it to be in his life Maybe not in his plans but neither are a child and another on the way Life has a way of changing what we believe we want and Kayla has the power to help it along Love the story would give it than 5 stars.

I did not want to put this book down While a surrogate heroine is not new, the way Yvonne Lindsay has approached it for this story is not something I have come across before I appreciated that throughout the story it was possible to identify which Sienna was which through context often in these books I have to go back and reread a page or section to make sense of the who. While there were parts of the story that cut close to home for me having been raised in a lower income, sole parent home, I do not regret reading this book and will definitely reread it in the future My only gripe is that we didn t get to meet Van and Kayla Sienna s son.I was provided a review copy by the author, that I voluntarily read.

This is by far one of Yvonne Lindsays best books and one of the best Billionaire and Babies books This story is about two friends from the past that meet again under unusual circumstances Van was a donor for Sienna so she could have children, her sister Kayla has given birth to one child and now a problem has risen that forces her to contact Van Lots of story lines, action, tension and two people trying to avoid the inevitable falling in love Of course you throw in the nasty female and you get a great story

With an intriguing story line and interesting characters made this a book that was hard to put down.Sienna Porter and Donavan Murphy were best friends growing up, with the Porter house and family becoming somewhat of a safe haven for Van When, as adults, Sienna was diagnosed with cancer, Van agreed to become her sperm donor, so she could still have a family after the treatments When Sienna loses the battle, Van and Sienna s little sister, Kayla, spend a grief and alcohol fueled night of passion, after which Van leaves Kayla behind Kayla Porter was the little sister pest and free spirit She made her dying sister a promise she intends to keep, changing into a responsible adult fit to raise her sister s children She intended to do it alone, but when circumstances change, she needs Van s help to finish the process Five years after she last saw him, she walks into Van s office with her daughter, who is obviously his daughter, asking for financial help Van, who has become very successful, never intended to have children and refuses to help bring into the world, but realizes that he needs to help with the daughter he does have. With twists and turns, these two navigate emotions and expectations, fighting their baggage, with the chance that they may, possibly, become a family. This was an interesting story with characters and a story that are well written and believable Lindsay continues to write stories that keep me coming back I definitely recommend it.

A good story idea with interesting main characters Donovan or Van as Kayla calls him may have made it big in the financial realm but he is running scared when it comes to anything emotional Because of so much pain beginning in his childhood, he has iron control of his feelings He can refuse to feel Kayla is a wide open, feeling woman She has lived a fancy free life up until she took up her sister s dream of children Then she got a big wake up call when it came to responsibility She still jumps heart first with both feet but now she also is totally invested into the children. So you can see that this is going to be an emotional story with some cruel moments from Van as he tries to deal with everything in a cold and distant manner I gave this a 3.5 Star rating on because it was an okay story But I gave it the extra points for the emotional parts of the story being well done Also because it wasn t your usual type of story.
