This book simultaneously impressed and disgusted Carolyn Wilkinson is an amazing writer She describes a man s experience in the Australian Prison system with gripping and detailed description that gets you completely caught up in the man s predicament But then you feel like you ve been blind sided when suddenly they start talking about mysticism, astrology, third eyes It becomes a huge part of the plot and left me actually skipping huge parts of the book out of boredom Honestly, the author is VERY talented, but the two subject matters prison experience and delving into tarot cards and weird religions didn t seem to mesh.I d love to read by the author, but only if it is strictly about Daniel Heiss prison experience minus the strange revelations and voodoo I understand that how he was able to survive so many years in isolation, but the detailed descriptions of it all were difficult to relate to.

I bought this book mid sunday morning at the local markets I had finished it by 9.30 that night Carolyn and Daniel were sitting at a table with copies of the book to sell I don t read a lot that is not work related, but this was a story about a local event and , so I thought I would give it a go I got home, started reading and couldn t put it down It is written in an easy reading style the time jumping was a bit confusing, but I worked it out The story is compelling and amazing Not only does it give an insight into Daniel s escapades but also to his life in prison That was shocking I bought a second copy so I could pass it around to my friends it is currently in Brisbane.

I thought that this book was extremely captivating Although the beginning was a bit difficult for me to understand, I finally got the hang of it and felt so addicted after the first few chapters It s a very interesting topic, and I do not often read novels that talk about the complex things Blood on the Wire mentions Overall, it was a good book and I enjoyed reading it very much
